I always associate summer with family vacations to Hilton Head Island, weeks spent working at a summer camp on Lake Erie, and trips to beaches and lakes in Maine during college. Even though I'm pretty far from any large bodies of water, I can at least acknowledge my desire to be by the sea with some classic sailor stripes.  I'm in love with this beachy cotton skirt from Madewell: a fresh and modern take on a timeless fashion staple.  The muted stripes and rope-tie belt are a subtle nod to nautical style.  I paired it with my favorite chambray shirt and coral sandals.
