I spotted this amazing home on THE STYLE FILES and I just had to share it with you.  It's an absolute stunner.  I love the mix of textiles, the clean lines, and the simple style.  Plus, it looks like such a relaxing space.  I adore the colorful tiles around the fireplace.  I would spend all weekend curled up in that bed with a book.  Brunches at breakfast nook? Pure perfection.  I'm also head over heels in love with the tiny vanity in the bathroom.  You should take a peek at this dreamy home and check out the full post here.

In the process of moving, I realized that the only magnets I had for our fridge were LOLCATZ poetry magnets.  Hilarious, but not practical for actually keeping things on the fridge.  Since our apartment is cozy (i.e. small) we try to utilize all space options.  We have hook magnets on the side of the fridge for my apron and oven mitts. In addition to a few clip magnets, I wanted something that had personality but that was also strong enough to hold up concert tickets, bills, and other important pieces of paper (so they don't get lost on the counter).  Enter Social Print Studio: a fantastic company that turns your instagram pictures into magnets, greeting cards, stickers, and art.  BRILLIANT.  I logged into my instagram account on their website, chose the product I wanted to make (square magnets), and picked a few of my favorite pictures.  It was so easy! Plus their prices are pretty reasonable.  I know where I'll be going to buy personalized Christmas gifts for all my loved ones.

It's officially a week until we move into our new place.  I'm so ready to move downtown!  Until then, want to check out some of my favorite general styling ideas?

I'm in awe of the pieces designed by Mae Engelgeer. A textile designer from The Netherlands, Engelgeer creates amazing home goods that look gallery worthy.  I am smitten with her use of pastel colors and subtle folk inspired prints.  I wish I could scoop up everything from her online shop.

In 5 weeks Steve and I will be moving into our new place.  Really what that means is that I'll be posting A TON of home inspiration posts between now and then.  Today I'll be sharing the style ideas I've been envying for my future apartment bedroom.  In the past I've posted about bedspreads and bedroom decor because who doesn't daydream about a cozy place to curl up.  However, that was when my bedroom was just for me.  Moving in with a boyfriend requires a little more compromise. One of the big challenges is finding harmony between Steve and I's individual styles.  He's more of a minimalist and likes to keep things simple and understated.  I do love an airy space but I also have a tendency to be drawn towards bright colors and all things shiny.  Here are a few ideas for keeping us both happy.

The apartment search has been exhausting to say the least.  Between cancelled showings and not getting applications in fast enough, it was looking pretty abysmal.  Luckily, last week we finally got some good news. An apartment I spotted on craigslist at our price point and in one of our favorite neighborhoods popped up. It didn't have pictures but I decided to ask for a showing regardless and if the landlord could send pictures.  The minute I saw pictures of the unit I fell in love.  Gorgeous hardwood floors, a spectacular kitchen, a bathroom with a claw foot tub, and a cozy little bedroom.  I decided that this property had to be ours.  The landlord directed me to the current tenant who was showing the properties.  Initially she said there were 3 showings scheduled and I would have to see the place at 8:30.  Eek.  That's a lot of potential people to get their applications before me.  PLUS I had friend visiting from out of town who were supposed to arrive right around the showing time.  Since I'm currently living 30 min from the city that was a no-go.  I waffled for a while and expressed my frustration with finding an apartment.  Call it luck or a divine intervention, the tenant offered to show me the apartment at 7:15 before the other prospective renters. When I arrived I fell head over heels in love with the building.  The apartment was even more beautiful than pictures.  The current tenant provided tons of info about the apartment and the building.  I immediately filled out the application.  After 24 hours I signed the lease and submitted the deposit.  The apartment is ours! I can't wait to move in July 1st. It all worked out in the end.  Hopefully the move goes smoothly!

P.S I'll post pictures of the place when I get the keys.

There's something about a string of lights that screams whimsical.  I'm always enchanted by streets lined with twinkling trees or a canopy of lights overhead. Recently I stumbled upon this clever idea: white lights on a ladder.  What a beautiful and creative light fixture.

One of the toughest things about living with my parents is not having the ability to decorate or spread out my stuff.  I know it's a temporary situation (and a great way to save money) but I still find myself drooling over decorating ideas on blogs like Apartment Therapy and Design*Sponge.  Until I move out (hopefully this summer), I've been collecting decorating ideas I love that also match my current belongings.  Check out a few pieces of inspiration for my future living room.

My dad is a major foodie.  He loves going to a restaurant and trying to pick a part a recipe so he can make it at home.  He favors bold flavors and wild ingredients.  If you have a foodie in your life who loves to eat, cook, bake, and grocery shop, here are a few delicious suggestions.  The Siracha Cookbook is perfect for your loved one who has to put the spicy and fantastic sauce on everything.  This salt of the America's kit is a great idea for an adventurous cook.  Krave jerky sounds incredible with flavors like Orange Pineapple and Chili Lime.  Malley's is a Cleveland staple.  My personal favorites are the Malley-Oh's and the insanely rich Fudge Sauce, both make amazing gifts.  Jeni's Ice Cream is another famous Ohio treat.  Although I've never had it, I've heard that it's amazing.   How can you not love flavors like Wildberry Lavender and Black Coffee?  Another great gift is delicious Marionberry Jam from Oregon.  I would die and go to heaven if I received a luxrious cheese from Cowgirl Creamery.  I was drooling looking at all of their cheeses.  Want to go for a bold gift? Pick a Himalayan Pink salt board.

Happy Gifting!

P.S I can't believe there are only 8 days until Christmas!
