Fall is definitely on the horizon. Evenings are getting cooler and the leaves are starting to change. To get ready for the inevitable, I've been brainstorming chic jackets to add to my usual rotation.  I'd love to get my hands on a cool moto jacket either in leather, suede or even a cotton blend. Here's a round up of a few of my favorites around the internet:

Apparently, 70s inspired fashion is in for Spring/Summer 2016. Think floral chiffon maxi dresses, fringe on fringe, and oh yes, clogs. Now, clogs have been creeping back into style with the rise of the Swedish Hasbeens a few seasons ago. But now, there are so many varieties and they are all so stinkin' cute. I picked a pair of TOMS clogs and they are so comfortable. Yes, you heard me right, TOMS is making clogs now. Although I don't agree with their One to One model (I could write a whole other post as to why it's problematic from an international development standpoint if you'd like), I do think their design team knows whats up. I can walk everywhere in them and my feet feel like they are carried by a cloud. True story. They've been turning heads in the office and at school. I'm even thinking about getting a second pair because I know I'm about to trash these bad boys by wearing them everyday.

One of my big goals for 2016 is to pare down my wardrobe and establish a capsule wardrobe. Rather than buying all the pretty things that catch my eye, I want to make smart purchases and invest in clothing and accessories that can be worn a ton of different ways. That being said, I've been on the lookout for a pair of booties that can be worn with anything and during multiple seasons.  Luckily, I found the perfect pair. I'm head over heels in love with the Dolce Vita Haku Bootie: half-bootie, half-mule, and a whole lotta sass.  These bad boys will look amazing with cuffed boyfriend jeans or a flirty sundress.

I got a plaid scarf earlier this fall and it has been an essential part of my wardrobe.  I wear it a minimum of once a week because it works with every neutral in my wardrobe.  All black? Throw on a plaid scarf. A chambray shirt? Throw on a plaid scarf. A plain t-shirt dress? You know the answer, throw on a plaid scarf.  It also is perfect for mixing with other prints: stripes, leopard, and even polka dots look darling with plaid. Because plaid works with well, everything, it's a great addition to a travel wardrobe. I'm heading to Maine next week for Thanksgiving with my boyfriends family and I'm planning on packing my plaid blanket scarf to dress up all my basics.  Need some inspo? A long, long time ago I had bangs.  When I was a freshman in high school I asked my fabulous and talented young stylist Michael to do whatever.  He gave me straight across Cleopatra bangs and I was enamored with my hair. Throughout high school and my early college years I had some variation of bangs whether side swept, grown out, or brow skimming.  More recently I've tended to gravitate towards more simple layers and bangs have fallen to the wayside.  When I scheduled a cut at my neighborhood salon two blocks from me (city living I love you) I decided I wanted to do something drastically different.  I've been in a rut and have wanted something fresh and new.  When pursuing my pinterest board for some inspo I had a sudden desire for bangs.  Here's the inspiration that I've had on my board since the beginning of pinterest (seriously, back when you had to wait a week between signing up and creating an account).


What I ended up getting was a bob which was way shorter than what I expected.  This seems to be the common dilemma when cutting hair.  You agree with the stylist that your hair should graze your collar bone but then in reality it barely touches your shoulders.  However hair grows, shocker I know, and in a month or two it will be a length I'm 100% happy with.  It kind of looks a little like this which means it will look awesome with all the hats I've acquired.


However I love the bangs!  We'll see how much I love them when I hit snooze a few too many times and I don't have time to wash and blow dry my hair but for now I'm smitten.

Statement necklaces are my jam.  Throw one on and BOOM, you instantly look so pulled together. Wear one with a sexy little LBD to give it a fun twist.  Dress up boyfriend jeans and a simple button down with colorful baubles. This morning was the first morning that felt like fall is ready to make an appearance.  It was crisp and wonderfully cool with a gentle mountain breeze.  Even though fall isn't quite here yet, I've been keeping an eye out for perfect fall styles.  Today dear readers, I'm going to talk about shoes.

Have you ever spent hours on Etsy just pursuing the stores? Not buying anything, just looking. It's probably one of my favorite pastimes.  Seriously, it's like window shopping but around the world with thousands of amazing artisans at your finger tips.  Perfect for a study break.  On my most recent "shopping trip" on the online marketplace, I found the amazing shop fail jewelry.  Simple metal jewelry that is perfect for effortless, cool girl styling.  I mean how can you not love earrings like these?

Los Chigones was incredible.  Great atmosphere and even better food.  I had a hard time picking what I wanted and was torn between a selection of tacos and the Colorado empanada. I ended up going with the tacos which turned out to be a good life decision. Check out those bad boys: a cotija taco, a shrimp taco and an octopus taco.  All three were beyond delicious.

I don't know about you but I'm itching to get a few new outfits into my rotation for spring.  Since the move, I've been organizing my closet and as a result I've been going through all my clothes.  I've realized that all I want for this spring and summer are simple maxi dresses/maxi skirts to wear on the daily.  I recently stumbled upon the perfect dress with a not so perfect price tag...
